New ICBM missile test fire by China can create havoc in Asia Pacific region. It can lead to a instability in region. Neighbouring countries of China are worried about the increasing might if Chinese army.
China tested the ICBM first in the last four decades. It's not surprising the test of ICBM came after the Quad meeting. According to Beijing, the test was not aimed at any country. Beijing said it was just a routine test. It was a very rare fire in the last 40 years.
China media reported they gave warning to neighbouring countries, but Japan responded they have not received any warning. The Australia and New Zealand governments also raise concern regarding this test fire.
This test by China can increase the tension between India and China. On the other hand, this test also shows the capability of the Chinese ICBM missile and its long-range nuclear capability.
What's the ICBM and why is it so dangerous? It is an intercontinental ballistic missile with a minimum range of around 5500+ kilometres. A country with ICBM capability can destroy a country on another continent.
There are a total eight countries with this capability. These countries are USA, UK, France, Israel, India, China, Russia, and North Korea.
This rare missile test was no coincidence. It was a strong message for India and other western countries. India was testing its Agni IV and Agni V missiles continuously in recent times. According to Beijing, India has broken the limitations on missiles and nuclear weapons. In 2024, India tested its Agni V with MIRV technology, and it can cover each and every part of China.
The test of Agni V has caused panic in the Chinese government.
The integration of MIRV technology with ICBM is a nightmare for China as well as Pakistan. If this type of missile test continues, this can unstable the region. It will make the situation worse. There should be negotiation and mutual understanding between countries, and they should take each and every possible step to maintain peace in the region.
If we talk about Indian perspective, it was obvious and it was meant to happen. India is fully aware of the fact that China has the capability and can attack any part of India. Countries like Japan and Australia should think about modernising their missiles, and they should test fire ICBM for their own safety purposes. On the other side, this can lead to instability in the region.
